Jenny and Gary chose the perfect spring day to tie the knot at my all-time favorite venue, Handsome Hollow Wedding, in the picturesque Catskills of Upstate New York. This idyllic hideaway is popular for Manhattanites seeking a dreamy destination wedding.

After discovering me on Handsome Hollow’s vendor list, Jenny and Gary, who reside in Manhattan, reached out for a FaceTime session to get acquainted. Our conversation was filled with laughter as we joked about the typical wedding chaos. By our chat’s end, I felt like I had made two new friends.

They infused their wedding with personal touches reflecting their backgrounds, making the day theirs. The venue was adorned with bright red Chinese lanterns, and they exchanged vows in front of a bold red Chinese character. The celebration continued with a traditional breaking of the glass ceremony. Main Course Catering provided a delectable and eclectic mix of dishes that hinted at their diverse heritages. However, the highlight of the evening was the incredible performance by Li’Nard’s Many Moods, a funk band from NYC. This was their first wedding gig, and they truly brought the house down. The music was so captivating that I stayed late, experimenting with double-exposure images and dancing alongside my videographer friend from Paperbird Weddings.
