I started my photography business about 10 years ago, chasing a dream using contacts I had in the fashion industry. I wasn't sure where it would land me but I was ready to dive in head first and take it on. It has been a journey that has taken me all over the world but it does not come without its own sacrifices and setbacks. The last few years have been filled with immense growth and many incredible opportunities.
Serving both the wedding, event and commercial photography industries I was over-worked and exhausted from carrying the workload all on my own. In 2019 my brother and my sister in-law joined me on the exciting journey, seeing that I was in need of help. They come from a business and marketing background and ended up fitting perfectly into the mix; the piece of the puzzle I was missing.
I manage the front-end business: the creative and execution of projects and they are there to support as the business management. They say don't go into business with family but I will forever be grateful for their hand in my business and helping me to continue growing my dreams! 2020 has hit us hard with weddings and events being on the back burner but together we have been able to hang on thus far and will continue to think outside the box to get through these difficult times.
Pre-COVID I split my time between California and New York, with a lot of travel in between. With everything on standby, I am quietly working from home on the California Coast in Laguna Beach anticipating the adventures ahead.
My vision as a photographer is to capture the world and the lives within giving voice to the unique tale we each tell. This career gives me a special invitation to see inside so many different people's lives and I constantly find myself in awe at how much that has changed my life and broadened my perspective. Grateful is not a word big enough to encapsulate all of the positive feelings I have for making my passion my career and the countless memories and moments it has afforded me.
My vision and style is a mix of documentary and editorial; focusing on natural, authentic and intimate moments. I like clean lines, symmetry – and asymmetry with distinct intention – architectural aspects, micro-people, grand scenes, the ocean; green and blue, a perfect candid moment, suspended emotion/ or suspended motion and a little mystery.
As the observer, I do not take lightly the promise to catch something unique and unexpected that may have gone unnoticed or unseen. I truly, deeply love what I do, being able to create and capture cherished forever-memories. I consider each job a collaborative effort of the soul, what will we create together?
