Manhattan Wedding Magic: Capturing A Stylish Celebration at The Glasshouses
Jon, Melissa, and I met over coffee at the NoMad Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Jon and I had already connected through his lighting company’s Instagram. During our conversations about his innovative products, he discovered that I also specialize in wedding photography. This led to a perfect professional match. Both being aesthetically driven—Melissa as a wardrobe stylist and Jon as an industry insider with a discerning eye and many photographer friends—they were looking for a photographer who could seamlessly blend into their style and was willing to travel to New York for their wedding. A casual cup of coffee ultimately sealed the deal.
Capturing Manhattan Wedding Elegance
Melissa was determined to make a statement with her wedding weekend attire. When I arrived at Uva for the rehearsal dinner, it was clear she would dazzle with her series of stunning wardrobe changes. Working closely with L’ezu Bridal Atelier, she crafted three unique pieces: a dress for the rehearsal, a wedding dress, and a chic suit for the reception. Each piece was elegant, regal, and infused with a show-stopping “WOW” factor.
Jon and Melissa meticulously planned every detail of their special day with their excellent wedding planner, Jesse Reing. Every element reflected their unique style, from the custom-designed dresses and vibrant floral arrangements to the eye-catching centerpieces and an avant-garde tiered black cake. The setting was The Glasshouses in Manhattan, a venue elevated high above the city with panoramic windows framing the iconic skyline.
The wedding exuded a cozy intimacy and enchanting vibe, typical of only the most heartfelt celebrations. Surrounded by their nearest and dearest, impeccably dressed, and enjoying exquisite Jamaican cuisine, we danced the night away. The evening was a lavish celebration of their union, marked by lively conversations and joyous laughter.
